nail in brand new tire...first use of Stop & Go
I bought a stop & go tire plug kit from Tim/Pashnit a couple years ago and have had it under my seat but never needed it. Today I got a nail in the rear tire of Multistrada with only 800 miles on it
. Conveniently I made it home from the ride before I noticed/ heard the hissing and before the pressure was too low. The Stop & Go kit worked great, pretty easy to use and seems very well sealed. I'll probably have it patched from the inside but from what I've heard many people ride long distances with a Plug & Go in the tire and do just fine.

Re: nail in brand new tire...first use of Stop & Go
I've been toting around a cycle pump and patch kit for a few years myself too. Never have checked to see if the pump even works. That's just me living on the edge. Nice to know that the kit still works and the glue isn't dried out after a couple years.

Glad you weren't stuck in the boonies when it really went flat, Doc
![]() I've had the same kit and compressor from Tim since I got the RT three and a half years ago. The one time I got a side by side puncture, the kit wouldn't have done me any good so I put plenty of air in the tire and hauled a$$ the 80 miles to home. The Stop & Go kit has come in handy for others in distress however so I think it is money well spent (and a bit of a good luck charm). ![]() Taking a cue from Dan (CRASH) though, I do need to augment the kit with some gummy worms/rope plugs that are available at the local parts houses. You can never be "too prepared", especially when you're on two wheels

That's awesome Rod, good to hear it was handy.
Stop & Go kit works great. This was just last weekend I plugged another tire with the same kit I've had for years and years. Pushing nearly 10 years of using the same Cycle Pump. |

Just a couple nails I've pulled out of tires last few years.

Re: nail in brand new tire...first use of Stop & Go
Another Tip ... replace your glue every year - wish I could find just the glue, but I end up buying a cheapie kit for $4 and taking the glue. I need to get a new tube before I go off with my daughter this weekend, just to be safe.
My experience so far, gummy worms work better than the mushroom plugs ... I carry both.

Re: nail in brand new tire...first use of Stop & Go
I have one of those Stop & Go tire repair kits too. I am glad I bought it! It sure came in handy on
the Girly Ride! A great thing to keep with you on the bike! Sorry to hear about getting the nail, Rod. My tire was pretty new as well. I had it put on in May and there was a mystery leak for days. Finally after being slimed, we found a small hole (with green goo squirting out....which was all over the bottom of the bike and on my luggage! Gross!!!) Here, a highway patroller watches me filling up my tire with Nancy's compressor. After trying to get the plug to stay put several times (me, Joanne (GearChick) and Nancy (hercbr) we finally did it!!) YAY! ![]() It was very hot and I was oh so crabby by the time this pic was taken..

Can't really tell what finger you are holding up there at the end.
