1105 Mile Day on a Busa - The Pashnit Iron Butt Ride

Meeting up the day before the ride, about 30 riders signed up. 20 made it to the meet-n-greet.

My plan was to leave at 3am



Several of us leaving at that time - all headed different directions, on different routes

Each rider planned out their own 1000 mile route.



Tim & his Concours: hours later, we'd both pull into the same gas station from opposite directions. Both at the 630 mile mark, on the other side of the state.



Time to leave.

I was so excited to leave after a year of planning, I was shaking as I donned my gear & headed out into the moonless night.

5:20 AM. Nevada's Hwy 50, The Loneliest Road in America

...and the sun was just beginning to come over the horizon.




It took a full hour of riding for the sun to come up. That was really special.

How do you describe that to someone who doesn't ride?
