Big Kahuna's 1998 CBR900RR
Here's some pics of my current ride. I bought it new in '98 and have put over 55,000 miles on it so far. Many of those miles were two up as my wife likes to ride along with me from time to time.
The last pick was my old gold look before the accident. For more info, check out my site.

That last pic older than the others? Looks like your old windscreen and exhaust.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that the latter photo was before my recent altercation with a minivan.

So what's the epilogue? Replace the bike? Rebuild?

Re: Big Kahuna's 1998 CBR900RR
Actually, the first three pictures are of the bike after I repaired it and as it sits now.
In the accident, I was lucky as I brushed off the side of the minivan and hit the pavement on the same side of the bike. Surprisingly, the bike didn't look too bad, other than a broken mirror and broken brake pedal it was still ridable. Rode it home, around town a bit and to and from the bike shop when I had it looked over. The pipe wasn't even scratched up too bad, but when I went to replace it, the good guys at Micron informed me that the color has changed a bit on the gold pipes. They are more a canary yellow rather than the deep gold I was used to. They helped me into a sweet carbon can so I was pretty happy. Since I lost the gold can, I switch all the cold parts with silver which gave the bike a whole new look. I Swapped out the California version black headers with the 49 state stainless. I've always wanted to change it out and thanks to a good member on another forum, I had the headers to my door the week before Laguna. With the help of a buddy, I put on the headers the night before we left for the races. The bike is looking better than ever and other than all the hassle with his insurance, the end result was very satisfactory. Although I still haven't replaced that sweet chrome windscreen.

Well, it certainly looks like it could have been much worse. I'm surprised you didn't get hurt after being side-swiped by a minivan. They don't look very "mini" when they're running into you, do they?
