throat mic

Hello,

Anyone using/used a throat mic before while travelling on motorcyle for there cell phone or voice recorder?

I would like to know how well it worked with wind noise and how much trouble if any for the mic connection to voice recorder was (connector sizing).

Thanks,

ZRX1200

Re: throat mic

I've tried throat mics for amateur radio on a bike, and in my experience they don't work. I went to a small condenser mic inside the helmet.

Re: throat mic

Been there, tried them ... gave up. Too many issues and just do not work well.

Re: throat mic

Haven't used a throat mic, but this place sells cheap setups for inside the helmet...I ordered one for my Nextel, but never installed it:

How well did the condenser mic deal with the wind and road noise cancelling at speed for VOX system? Did it keep activating it while moving at highway speed?

I used Push to Talk. Velcroed a PTT button to the left handlebar.
