It Was a Beautiful Jan 1, 06

It looked like it was going to rain this morning. But then it cleared up so I took a quick run out to Tortilla Flats and then the end of the pavement. There was a TON of traffic coming and going. Once to Tortilla Flat, I think every cruiser bike in PHX was there! What a zoo. So on I went to get away from that junk. There's not a lot of places to stop along the road so I just took a couple of photos from the top. The clouds started filling in a bit and gave that nice overcast to wash out the sky to the south. Sorry. And then by the time I got home, it was almost completed clouded over. It may still rain yet!

Hope y'all had a nice New Years Day. I sure did.

Gosh Renee, rub it in while you can...

We lost power here for 3 hours yesterday; just cold and wet this New Year's weekend in Georgetown...I'm glad somebody got to ride in something besides rain

Hey Renee...here's some proof of the weather Donna mentioned. We have major flooding in the Russian River and Napa areas. One of our regular riding areas (Wohler Road which is one of the roads we take back from Healdsburg, crossing the Russian River, back toward Petaluma) is completely under water. We drove up there today and took a look. I'd say the width of the Russian river, usually 100 feet or so in most places, is measured in miles today! Crazy flooding going on. I hope not too many homes were affected but haven't seen the news yet so I donno.

(Note: both pics below are taken from the same spot. Normally there would be zero visible water from this location. The bottom one is just facing a bit to the right of the other.)

Renee...

Thanks for letting us see what the sun looks like. I did get a little ride in yesterday in the afternoon...but the mud slides prevented going very fast on any twisty road in the county.

Glad somebody got in a N/Y day ride!

Steve

Man, did you ride in the parking lot of your bike storage or by some miracle was there NO rain in Rancho??

Here in Folsom the winds were so gusty at least one cow blew by and a very wet cow at that, at least as best i could tell considering we had no lights....hehehehehe

Re: It Was a Beautiful Jan 1, 06

LOL Was windy but not bad just sprinkling I wouldn't call it much of a ride but I did get about 50 miles of toodling around trying to hook up with my Polar Bear Run friends who were in Newcastle heading TO the snow.

Renee looks like she definitly has wayyyy more fun than we did in "Sunny California~ Land of Liquid Sunshine".

Renee, you may be getting a lot of Pashnit company if you keep posting those kinds of pics! hehehe

Yes I do. This and spring are about the only times though. Summer is UGLY. I'm going to go out and see what it's doing. If it's nice, I'll ride again today and try to get some better photos.
