Dayride-2/12/05

Lori and I went for a dayride two-up yesterday, in the woods near our house.

Looks a little cool, but a lot less snow than I expected. You've got a great back yard!

Now that's trust. 2 up on a dirt ride. No thanks! Great photos though. Glad y'all went and shared with us. It was over 75 again this weekend but really windy. Way over record days without rain here too. Wind+no rain= DUST. And lots of it. What I would give for that to be near MY house...

Re: Dayride-2/12/05

Thanks all!
It's been around 70 degrees here for about the last week, so a lot of the snow has melted off. It was great to be able to get out, I haven't had much of a chance to ride for the last couple of months, so I guess that I'll have to make up for lost time.

Very nice Ray. Wow 2-up! That's amazing to me, your skill far surpasses mine... Is that the road towards Butte Meadows, with all the mud?

Nice pictures too, I really like the worm's eye view of your bike and the trees.

Hey Ray,

Lookin' nice up there. I think a ride up to the Sac/Chico area is in order for me. I need to put some miles on my bike and enjoy a long weekend of moto-therapy. Would be cool visiting with you and Lori again. I'm sure this will happen sometime this Spring or Summer. Let me know if you have a good weekend opportunity for riding prior to this in March. Maybe a Hwy 36 run out to the coast? This President Day weekend and the next are already booked. After that, I'm committed to ride mode again.

Re: Dayride-2/12/05

March sounds great Tom. 36 would be cool, maybe we could head up 32 and take this end of 36 over, I think you were considering doing that ride last year but we ended up going through Greenville instead. Let's keep an eye on the weather and see what we can do...I'll leave the nice weather part up to you...
...you're pretty good at finding those holes in the clouds...

Don't know about the skill part...I gotta give my props to anybody that's made the Alaska ride...
...I do know this...I was a better rider twenty years ago than I am now...

That muddy road pic is Lovelock Rd.

Excellent pix, Ray! Love the one of the bike on the bridge. I'd guess things are melting up there, but then we have this cold front coming in. Be interesting to see pix in another week.

Count me in for a ride on 36!!! Can we set a date? I can meet y'all at 32/36.

Re: Dayride-2/12/05

LOL, you're much too kind...I actually managed to get my thumb into one of those pics!
I gotta admit though, they are better than most that I've taken lately.
I think that I've finally figured out how to get the most out of my cheap-assed camera, but there's only so far I can go without getting a new one.
What's a good camera in the <$149.99 range??
Paid $88.99 for this one a couple of years ago, should be able to find something better now for $149.99 I would think.
Can't really go much higher than that, cuz I just bought me a Benjamin 392 and a Crosman 1377c and two BSA 3-7X's w/mounts...so my Christmas money's almost spent...

Also, I've been trying to take pics that look a little more in the style of yours, John's, and some of the other great photographers here at pashnit, rather than the more "snapshot" style photos I had been taking.

36 sounds great, as far as a date, I'm going to leave that to Tom, I'm sure he can find us a weather window with prolly 5-7 days advance.
I'm pretty flexible, so I'd be willing to go just about anytime we can get a couple of days without rain and fog, since I prefer to camp.
