New bike !!! - My 2006 Yamaha R6

Picked up my new bike at D&E Yamaha in Visalia today, it's been there since last Tuesday but had to wait for the check from the credit union. When I went and looked at it Wednesday it had zero miles. Today the owner told me he couldn't resit he took it out for a test ride and put 12 miles on it . I rode it home and it's quite a difference from the O4 R6 that we have, the tank is higher, clip ons are lower below the triple clamp, foot pegs are a little higher and seem to be further back.

Love the ride it shifts alot nicer and smother than than the 04 still scrubbing in the tires so rode real conservative but I think I'll keep it. When I got home there was a letter from Yamaha saying that although they marketed and sold it with an advertized red line of 17,500 after extensive testing on production bikes it's only 16,000 and if that was a problem they would buy it back including all cost. Like I said I think I'll keep it. Here's a few pics will post more when it's not so dark out.

Re: New bike

Nice bike. I would have told them to keep that one though and get another one with ZERO miles on it. I understand that when they put a bike together they usually take a short test drive, but he flat out told you he couldn't resist and put twelve miles on it. But as long as your happy who cares.

Re: New bike !!! - My 2006 Yamaha R6

A great looking bike!! One question: Are the revs now automatically limited to 16.000 or a you supposed to keep the revs below that number? The sound at 17.000 must be cool..
