U-2, Very nice, I have been doing some reading and the SV1000 is a very interesting mach, It would appear to be a great all around motorbike, Have you ever seen how it matches up with the 1200 bandit?

Chip - that thing is awesome looking!
Seems to have all the right mods in all the right places. An absolute beautiful bike - and blue is such the right color! Love that bikini fairing and the lil scoop down low - great look!

Re: My Semi Custom SV1000 Naked...
Hey Guys, thanks for all the compliments... I spent a lot of time getting the bike just right....for me anyway... It really has been the perfect bike for me... I've kinda come full circle... I had a TL1000R, then went to a Honda VTX 1800C... Beautiful looking bike, but definitely not my style... I got a KTM Duke II as a second bike when I had my VTX... Sold the VTX after just 1 1/2 seasons and got the SV... A perfect combination of everything I was looking for in a motorcycle... Other considerations at the time was a Kawasaki Z1000 and Aprilia Tuono... The Z wasn't a twin and the Tuono was just a little too much money...
As for how it compares the Bandit 1200.... I really don't know... I think it's probably a little sportier (suspension and ergonomics), and the V-twin is obviously the biggest difference... I got my flyscreen at www.streetfightersbydesign.com, but they're not showing Barracuda products on their site anymore.?.? Thanks again... More ride pics to come... |

Beutiful ride! I looked at the SV'S but I am a big guy and the DL worked better, That exhuast system looks bitching! Bet it sounds like a beast. How much of a difference did the seat of your pants notice with the exhuast and the PCII?

Re: My Semi Custom SV1000 Naked...
I'm not sure how much I actually gained... It is honestly hard to tell sometimes because what seems like more go is sometimes just an illusion because of the added noise (exhaust). I did notice that it seemed to smooth out a bit, especially in the low and mid-range....
The front wheel will ride up during hard accelleration in 1st and 2nd, but I didn't ride it that hard before putting the mods on because I was just getting the bike broken in... Sorry I can't be of more help... -c- |
