Went for a trail ride off Doon Grade today. Took some pics.

Looks like fun Ray. I did the same thing in the Zuk on Sunday, just dove around looking at stuff. It's a little tougher though with all the gates and such. I remember when you could drive all over up there. Now it's just one gate after another
 . They even have R line and P line out of Stirling City gated. I got discouraged and probably went a few places I shouldn't have, drove over a few rock barriers and such  . Makes it easier to get home just follow the blue paint on the rocks. ..................RON

I have started carrying bolt cutters since the time I came out of the woods to a locked gate. I've never had to use them, but sooner or later I am afraid I will find myself locked in...
I had to use them last week when my chain came off but that was on a sort of paved road, and I needed them to hammer the chain out of the sprocket... Nice pix, wish I was there... |

I know most of the codes for the logging gates around here. This time every gate had a key lock on it,
 denied .A few years ago some friends were up on A line tooling around. They passed some loggers, who stated the gate would remain open for them to leave . Well it was locked when they got there to go home. They tried every side trail and road to get out till they were nearly out of gas. They then double lined a winch to the gate and pulled it out of the ground. Being nice guys who didn't want the gate to be found missing in the morning, they hooked a strap to it and dragged it down Skyway to Stirling City . It was left in the logging office parking lot. They now have a bigger gate with bigger rocks around it.

I went for a nice remote ride heading towards Stonyford and Rail Canyon road
last Sunday:  But I didn't ride home:  No harm came to me, can't say the same for my wallet! Bolt cutters came in handy. |
