A UK gathering, way fun! Pics, lotta pics please. Maybe y'all can group travel to California sometime. We'll show you the secret roads we all have stashed (if you promise to keep them under your hat).

BTW, 100 miles is nothing when the roads are wide and uncluttered. I imagine that is a different story in most of the UK.

Group travel to sunny California .............
Somebody[ else ] start a fund immediately for this idea [ and come up with a valid explanation for all the understanding wives etc ] .
Lots of photos .................. tough one , but I'll see what I can manage ..

100 miles is nothing to some of us , my recent jaunt to the Lake District was nearly 500 miles in the day [ I did similar when I had my Fazer 600 and my GS] - some of the other blokes I know over here [ sportsbike riders ] thought I was barking mad to ride such a distance in a day , but I don't think anything of it as I have the right type of bike for the job .

Re: How many PASHNIT forum members are in the UK?

Hello. I'm up in Aberdeen Scotland. It's been a while since I've been on the pashnit forum because my internet usage seems to vary a lot. Recently I've become very interested in Scottish mountain bothies after a hike to Corrour Bothie in Glen Dee and seem to spend most of my time trying to find out about all the others.

Back to the point, I would definitley come to a UK(or possibly even a European) Pashnit meeting if it fit in with my offshore time table. I work 3 weeks on call/2 weeks off so I get 20 weeks off a year.

I've recently bought a 99 zx6r and so far it seems very comfy over long periods with the riding position on the right side of too sporty for 5'8" me.
If any one is interested in a 95 Suzuki VX800 with a aftermarket fairing give me a shout. It's an excellent tourer and would make a great winter bike.

I've done a bit of group riding with the Aberdeen Bikers Forum Group but they are very sportsbike orientated and i have seen the wrong side of double the national speed limit trying to keep up with the front of the pack . I imagine a pashnit ride would be slightly less frantic given the wide range of bikes we ride. That would be cool, just chillin and checking out the scenery.

I hope this gets organised.

Ewan

Count me in if I can fit it in with my schedule. Netherlands is central to just about anything in Europe.

Heck, even if I'm too pressed for time to ride in I might be tempted to fly in just for the evening or so.

As to the group travel: how about we try to get a price on charter of a combi (dual freight/passenger configured plane)? Pashnites up front in the pax section, bikes in the back... Might not be all that more expensive than regular airline travel plus renting bikes stateside.

Could be an idea. If traffic isn't too bad that's less than 3 hours for me.
Plenty of other opportunities as well. I live about an hour from either the Hoek van Holland or Ijmuiden ferry ports.
