Artist Painting My Miscellaneous Photo Thread.... A place for our random pics!

Okay, here's the problem, I've got literally thousands of photos from road trips that've never been posted. Yet, many of them are great pics and may give you not only a glimpse of an area or moment of time, but may even inspire you to also head out and seek that same spot. Many of my road trips over the years are seeing a photo somewhere, posted, shared, or even a magazine cover- and saying I want to go there!!!

So here's the rules. You must upload them to the pashnit forum server, rather than hyperlinking from outside sites (i.e. PhotoBucket, mageStation, etc). The Pashnit Forum even offers Image Hosting for $20 a year (I pay $100 for SmugMug) if you want to use the forum as a host for all your photos.

You must explain or say where the photo was shot, possibly even short blurb about the photograph(s) to allow us to experience the photo with you!! (btw, the 'Pashnit Photo Contest' was originally set up to get 400 pixel tall pics for the pashnit.com homepage ) Try to use the 800x600 standardized size. Post as many random photos as you like.

And motorcycle/road trip related please!!

Re: My miscellaneous Photo Thread

This is Sutter-Ione Rd, near Sutter Creek, CA. I once called this road part of the "Holy Grail Triad". A sequence of three roads at similar elevations in the Sierra Foothills that all lead out of the Central Valley to the Historic Hwy 49. Stony Creek Rd & Pool Station Rd are the other two twisty affairs. This road is coated in a brilliant coat of green-green grass in Spring. Come June, the green is all gone. You can see the entire Central Valley from up there, all of Sacramento, the defunct Nuclear Power Plant, Mt Diablo, just incredible. All the way from the Sierras to the edges of the Bay Area.

Mammoth Lakes area is one of my favorites for some of the greatest roads and incrediple photo opportunities, yet I have minimal photos that actually have a MC shown in them.

about eight years ago i bought my first car and decided i was going to go visit friends in Thunder bay(14 hour drive). this was taken out of the sunroof of a 76 toyota carolla at about 80 mph. it had a huge moon roof . , any way, while i was there the sub frame broke. i had it for one month. i miss that car.

Here's a couple of an interesting sign on Matole Rd...

This is what Southbound traffic see's...

And the other side...
(which puzzled me when I first saw it as this is what I saw first when coming from the South)

Re: My Miscellaneous Photo Thread.... A place for our random pics!

Taken somewhere along Pacific Coast Highway 1 north of SF, October 2004, last fleeting light with 800 speed film. Had to hold the camera steady since I didn't have a tripod (I think I braced it against my knee as I knelt). Bike was a rented Heritage Softail from a place in San Raphael. Rolled the bike up to the edge of the mighty Pacific, hoping for a spectacular sunset that didn't happen. But the shot still turned out as one of my favorites.

Had actually run out of film, rode inland for about twenty miles, found a Safeway grocery store, ran in and bought some 800 speed film, and beat it back to the coast to catch the last little bit of sunlight. This was the only shot I got.
