Can't seem to open any of the Santa Barbara area roads to view. Is it me or is there a problem?

Not You. I tried and could open only Jalama Road. We're keeping the rest a secret!

Yes Bryan, this really sucks, but Jeff Donovan seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Jeff put a lot of time and work into that site about Santa Barbara county and he and I teamed up to give him lots of exposure.

It's unfortunate that the web in some ways is a really fluid thing and websites come and go over time. Of the 4 that were really detailed about CA, there are now only two left. If I can't reach Jeff, I'm going to have to go in and delete every single one of those links.

Not sure if he is still active in the local motorcycling community, or in contact with any other bikers in the Santa Barbara area.

Wow, I'm so glad I didn't fork out $20 to access the roads section, since I was specifically interested in the SB area.

I guess it's karma...

Mine must be good...

When you charge people to use a site that advertises certain benefits and doesn’t deliver, you know that eventualy you will get what’s coming to you.

I hope you didn’t spend any of the money you’re raking in on your Busa Tim...

It could get kind of messy for you...

Since I'm here I might as well advertise what I'm trying to do...

My name is jeff and I'm from O.C. my wife-to-be and I are heading for Santa Barbara area (weather permitting) on our Venture Royal, April 2nd for a 3 day Honeymoon. We are looking to tour the local area in search of great scenery and fun.

I’m good with directions and have ordered a detailed map of the area, but would like to avoid overly complicated (hard to find) routes. We would welcome any suggestions regarding good routes and reasonably priced lodging, as well as places to eat and/or hangout.

If you have any ideas or sugestions that could benefit us and help us make this a trip to remember, we would love to hear from you soon. jeffsbaack@aol.com

Jeff- all the links to the SBC-Rides site are not part of pashnit. I've spent years promoting his site. For free. Just as I do the Lateral G site.

It was all free. Still is. As in all the tons of information you were seeking was all free. But Jeff's site no longer exists as far as we know. You might also take a look at Mike's site, he has a lot of links of good roads in SB/LA county area. For free. I promote him too. For free.

And ironically, despite your combative chest puffing posturing, I'm still going to provide you all the information you seek, by providing you a medium to acquire and interact with your fellow riders that will answer any question you ask. For free.

You're starting to get annoying.

Re: Santa Barbara Roads

Well, hopefully you'll be able to get them restored at some point and time. It's ok though, I have riden all but about 2 of them, so if anyone wants a tour guide give me a call. And I don't care what jeffsback say's. It's worth way more than the $20 bucks you charge. I suppose he can just wander around lost or just ride the interstates. Keep on Rockin' Tim!

I have tried to get ahold of Jeff too, to no avail. I worked with him and contributed to his site on a few of the roads, and have some of the original stuff. Maybe I can work toward restoring the work on another site, or just re-doing the local stuff this summer.

Thanks Walt. I figured someone would know Jeff. He and I chatted a bunch when he first started up SBC-Rides couple years back. This motorcyling community is a lot smaller than people realize at times.

I've begun deleting all of the links to Jeff's web pages on the main page of CA Moto Roads & replacing them with a few more links to Mike's (levaris) site, although Jeff had focused so much exclusively on one county, he really had it covered.

If someone is able to locate him, or a hard copy of his site, I could always host if for him of course if he'd be willing to do that. Let him know that Walt if you run into him.

NorthCountyCruisers.com has some really great info on San Deigo County too to cover that region of the state.
