Trip through Central KY...

I hope you all don't mind a visitor from the Bluegrass State. I've been reading Pashnit forums for five or six months now, and would like to make a contribution. My housemate, Alex and I planned out a trip because it was almost 70 degrees today when the average for this time of year is 50 at best.

We basically made a big circle south of where we live in Nicholasville, which is just south of Lexington. Total mileage was 111 miles and about four and a half hours. My bike is the 2003 EX 500. Alex drives a 1991 CBR 600F2. Hope you all enjoy.

Hi Nate,

Welcome to the forum. Do you ever take the ferry across the Ohio to Cave in Rock, IL? I always enjoyed riding thru Kentucky.

Zak,
I've never taken the ferry that you speak of, but I do take one that crosses over the Kentucky River between Fayette and Madison Counties. I'll definitely have photos from there coming within the next month when we ride down that way again.

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I hope to be contributing more in the near future.

Nice. That is such a beautiful area. Please continue to contribute wonderful photos like that. One question though, is that a road or a walkway where the park benches are? Were y'all being naughty and riding up the walk or no?

HAHA...no, actually that is a little road leading down to some houses. Those are actually fences around those trees, not benches. I suppose it's to protect the trees so they grow to their fullest size.
