A Quick Run to Lake Mead NRA

Hi guys,

Yes, it even snowed here (lightly) over the weekend, so even though the temps haven't quite returned to normal, I really wanted to go out for a quick run today.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area is one of the few places down here that offers anything remotely close to twisty roads.

Just wanted to offer up a few pics for those who are still snowed in. I planned a lot more shots, but forgot to change the camera batteries before I left....so it only lasted for 5 shots.

I'm continuing my quest to build a bike that everyone refuses to sell in the U.S. - a mid-displacement sport touring bike. Here's a quick shot of what the bike looked like when I bought it....

nice changes to your VStrom. the lowers give it a more sporty look. Is it my imagination or is the color different also?

Hi Jim,

Thanks!!

Same color, just much different lighting between them - that and the effects of a cheap digital camera.

The current shots are more representative of the true color of the bike. The earlier one came out almost orange-tinged for some reason.

Mike, GREAT looking bike. I really like your new additions. With Dale moving out there.......maybe we'll have to get a red bike tour going on.
