Hwy 1 closed (4/6/07)

For those of you planning to ride Hwy 1 along the Central Coast of Cali, it is currently closed due to slides at 2 points: 1 mile South of Lucia and also at 2 miles South of Gorda. The Lucia location puts that closure very close to the intersection of Nacimiento-Fergusson Road that cuts across the coast range to Fort Hunter Ligget. Perhaps someone else has a little better intel as to whether N-F road is actually accessible or not.

Meantime, don't forget about Cal Trans' website where you can check highway closures.

Re: Hwy 1 closed (4/6/07)

Thanks Walter, will be headed that way next weekend hopefully. Last year was a similar large slide just to the north of Lucia. I think Mother Nature is going to do both sides. Thankfully, that one got fixed by our first big ride.
