Another KY Ride...
Hello everyone. In case you don't remember, I live just south of Lexington, KY. The last trip I reported on a couple of weeks ago was about 100 miles. This one was a bit shorter, just 60 miles or so, so only a couple of pictures because we didn't stop but a couple times.. We rode down to the Kentucky River. The roads cover rolling hills and valleys that lead down to the river. Sometime soon I'll have more pictures of these roads after I take the trip again and stop more often. In case you wonder about the muddy tires in the first pic, my riding buddy led me down a back gravel road that he said ended up at the river and a great photo op. Well, we ended up driving through mud. My buddy dropped his '92 CBR 600 in the mud after the rear tire slid out from under him. Luckily I kept mine up. Lesson learned?--sport bikes don't double as dirt bikes. Enjoy.

Re: Another KY Ride...
Looks fun to me! Bummer about the CBR in mud. Maybe he should get a Yamaha YZF 600 R, or Ninja 500(see various posts by Com3 to understand that statement). Your Ninja just looks good in front of that S-curve. Nice bike and I bet it's fun to ride around!

it's true. they don't double as dirtbikes very well...
but they sure do make good mud boggers, snowmobiles, and rock crawlers! |

Re: Another KY Ride...
I like it Joe. There are several waterways around here that look similar to the one in your pictures with the rocky islands. I've been tempted to try to get my bike over there for some pictures like you have. I think the Ninja can handle the shallow water and rocks. I think I'll have to try it. By the way, Joe, I'm a big fan of your website. You take some wonderful pictures.
Andrew, the Ninja is a lot of fun to drive around. Problem is, I've had it since September and I already want something bigger. There just isn't as much pep to it as I'd like. I've ridden my friends CBR 600 and of course I love the power. I'm trying to hold off until I've had the Ninja at least a year before I upgrade. Nate |
