Sunshine and Covered bridges

The sun came out in the Willamette Valley this week, and by Thursday I was up to some motorcycle therapy. These three covered bridges are down in Cottage Grove, 20 miles south of Eugene. The first two, Currin and Dorena, both cover the Row River (pronounced as if you are in a scuffle, not as if you are people powering your boat) and are not in common use. You cannot drive over Currin, but you can Dorena. The third, Mosby Creek, covers (you guessed it) Mosby Creek, and is in use as the bridge for Layng Rd. as it connects Mosby Creek Rd. and Row River Rd.

It was a sunny day, temp in the mid-60's. Very little traffic, as it was mid week. Here are a couple more pics, of my bike, both showing Row River, and of Mosby Creek.

Re: Sunshine and Covered bridges

We should have a Summer Gathering so all the Pashnit folks can come to see our gorgeous part of the country. A covered bridge ride could be part of it...

Sounds like a good idea. Some really nice bridges in Oregon. Another nice ride would be to view many of your waterfalls.

Thanks for the post Ally...........Ken

In either Linn or Lane county, the covered bridges alone would be a very full day to visit all in one ride.

I'd better get started.

So many roads, so little time.

Martie, it seems a bit of a trend here, one of the riders last weekend even suggested I start building 'Pashnit Chapters' around the various states, and even countries that use this forum. With Pashnit Gatherings starting to spread (Dale's SoCal Pashnit Gathering/Camp trip last weekend, and the huge Pashnit CampTrip to Sequoia last year (look on http://www.pashnit.com homepage for this year's info.)). But someone would have to plan it out, and I promise you people will come.

Remember all we did for the first one, was set a date, found a park, rented the spot for the day (state park in the case of Calaveras Big Trees), and everybody pitched in $10 for the food which I brought. Pretty simple formula.

OK -- but I don't do anything without Ally and Steve. By the way, Steve, who's the new kitty?

That's one of the many Maneki nekos that I'll be feeding for a while.
