Del Puerto Canyon, Mt. Hamilton, San Juan Grade, and oh yea a car race...
I had the opportunity to meander my way to laguna a different way this time thanks to Chief.
The route I chose was Ave. 7 to 12 to Firebaugh. North on Rt. 33 through Dos Palos then 152W to Los Banos. At Los Banos I took Ingomar Grade road to 33 N to meet Patterson and Kenny. Together we rode Del Puerto Canyon Road where we encountered a covey of binocular crested boobie drivers. Some eight carloads of Spotted Owl spotters were taking the opportunity to commune with nature by driving slowly in a double yellow zone and scanning the surrounding hillsides with binoculars, stopping periodically to enjoy the more spectacular representations of the species. When we could stand no more (I was jealous because I didn't think to bring MY binoculars) Kenny crossed when safe and we proceded past the creeping procession. As I passed the lead vehicle, I needed to test the XR's rev limiter.....Yep it worked. Durn, that T4 pipe is loud Del Puerto is a lovely motorcycle road. Turns smooth and tight, scenery, even an off road riding area! Great Road!! But on to the pix. First is this lonely 360 chained to another junker. Then in Gustine, a nicely restored model A (?) Finally, "Jester Returns" to Patterson!

The observatory, or the first dome that is. I've always heard it referred to as "the telescope" but actually there are several domes in the complez at the top of the hill.

Parking lot sale at Road Rider in San Jose. I picked up a 2 piece suit from Shift for $299. Even if it sucks, it's a great bargain. RR sells these normally for $600. Lot's of neat bikes. Even Mike was there!

Great post. The pictures and story are great. Pink Cadillac, you don't see that too often.
