Hey all,

I've not posted before, but I've been checking the site out for a while, in awe at the amazing bike-holidays you guys seem to go on all over the world. I thought I'd contribute something, so here's some pictures of my weekend... I hope you don't think me rude to post these up first off, I'm no one-shot-wonder, I assure you

I was at Silverstone last weekend for the first Brit installation of the year, of the World Superbikes races. My girlfriend and I were there on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. We were there to interview James Toseland, who's riding for Winston Ten Kate, and to get photo coverage of the event. I took hundreds of photos, maybe thousands, but here's a few choice ones. Check out the rest on the links below... Man, I love WSB, it's madness! Crazy bikes, crazy riding.

My favourite riders/teams this time round were James Toseland (being British, and bringing it home to third place, twice), Alex Barros (for riding bloody well after a crash that would scare most of us into stopping riding), Nori Haga (the Samurai of Slide, complete nutter), Chris Walker for doing things with a Kawasaki I never thought possible) and Troy Bayliss for winning and making it look so easy! I don't even want to talk about how Suzuki did

What camera set up are you using?

Hey SnailsPace. Thanks! I'm using a Nikon D70 w/200mm Sigma lens and SB600 flash. I took all the non-track galleries (the majority), those two were by contributors, and I think they were using Canon equipment but I'm not quite sure. I'm no pro, finding my feet and doing the aprentership, so to speak. I found it very hard this weekend, when it was raining I had to use very high iso, and very slow shutters, losing quality and sharpness, then when it was sunny, it was too contrasting! Still, you've gotta be out there to learn, eh...

I would love some better equipment, i.e. faster body, longer lenses, but the next step is a huge expense!

Those 2 Yamaha girls look awfully cold! .... If the guy in the background in the jacket doesn't give away how cold it is there.

Mole, no! I was concentrating on the paddock/pit area, it was a long way to walk around to track vantage points, and I didn't have a long enough lens for track shots anyhow. I saw those pictures though, crazy!
