PASHNIT Lives!!! And we're back!!!! New server on line!!

Whew. All back. If anyone notices any data loss let me know. Quite the heartstopper to have a conversation with the host that involves sentences like- 'the entire site is gone'.

During what was supposed to be a routine upgrade to the server, a error occurred resulting in a total loss of the pashnit site and forum. What you see here is a hard re-boot from the backup on brand new server with twice the space and twice the bandwidth (which I'm hoping will solve some of the servers issues that were occuring). Once that got figured out, then it took 24 hrs for the dns (sort of like the address to your house) to update.

It's possible that data/threads from 6/2-6/3 was/are lost (which considering there are 30,000 photos here is minimal). So if you registered on those days, have to do again. (sorry ). Anyone that signed up for the CA Moto Roads site on those dates & no access, let me know & I'll get it figured out or fix it manually.

Won't get rid of me that easy. The Pashnit site will be around forever. I promise.

This is great news, we were away on the MDS Sierra Hope Ride and when I went to catch up Sunday night it was like life just ended, well maybe not quite but close. I have been there with those host experiences and they are no fun.

Keep up the great job, we will be here to support you.

Looks like a few threads from Saturday afternoon and evening disapeared. Mine included. Its great to have the site back...talk about withdrawal symptoms.

I'm grievously wounded by the whole thing. I think whoever's responsible should pay for a free track day for all members, so the guilty party can repent their sins. But how does one figure out who crashed the server? Or did it just happen on its own?
Seriously though, glad the site is back online, and I hope the new server works out.

Yes, it was a long two days. When the page of 'related site links' came up, I began to imagine that a domain squatter had managed to get hold of the domain name for advertising purposes.

Then I went to Google and pulled up the list of riding groups page from their cache and found a _bunch_ of dead pages having to do with motorcycling. If a fellow was paranoid...

No one crashed the server. We moved servers and then it took a day for the DNS servers to update.

No one is going to be able to upload attachments for the time being. Need to get a few things straightened out so bear with us.
