2006 Rumble to the Summit: First Photos!

Today was the annual Rumble to the Summit through Clovis, Ca, and up to Sierra Summit, to raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. I posted myself along Clovis Avenue in the heart of downtown Clovis to get these pics of the big parade which is the biggest motorcycle event in Clovis.

By my estimates, over three bikes went past each second for a solid twenty minutes, That works out to over 3600 motorcycles. This run is coordinated partly by the local H.O.G. chapters, and so you can imagine that 99% of them were Harleys, but every common make of bike was in evidence in some respect or another.

Re: Rumble to the Summit: first photos!

Entirely my pleasure, Greg! I know from experience that when you get to posting photos, they're gonna be good!

Reallllly fun to see this collection of bikes. Now I can imagine what it would be like on one of these giant runs. They're not my thing, but it's obvious people are out enjoying themselves!

Ummm, so do scooters actually rumble? Or do they have to have drilled pipes?

Thanks for a great post, Cadd!

I don't think even the scooter's rider could hear it.

This is one day when everybody takes out their baffles and makes as much noise as possible, and the P.D. ignore it.

They will probably make $250,000 for Make-A-wish this year.

Greg, Great shots. To bad you didn't come up to the event. The City of Clovis has been absolutely great to deal with. And yes, Clovis P.D. does over look certain things when it come to this kind of event. Having been heavily involved in the event when it was in Fresno, I have to give kudos to Clovis who is very event friendly vs. Fresno's, "do we have to do another event" attitude. We raised right at $180,000 this year and have a ten year total of $1,187,642. Thanks again for taking and posting the photos on the Forum. I'm very proud of the event we put together and look forward to it's continued success.

No they don't. They moved to Fresno. I don't recall where in Fresno.

Re: 2006 Rumble to the Summit: First Photos!

There is a coffee shop on the east side of Clovis Ave between 4th & 5th that was baking cinimon buns the whole time I was standing there waiting to take the photos, and it was simply driving me nuts.
