Prefumo Canyon Views

Took my wife's F650CS out for a spin this afternoon. I headed up a little canyon road between San Luis Obispo and Avila Beach called Prefumo Canyon. I don't remember if Tim has ever written/ridden it but it should be on his list of "to-do's" if he hasn't. It has a section just beyond the top that is actually dirt for about a mile. That part is considered open range and has plenty of cattle roaming the roadside...and sometimes the road itself. I didn't get over to that side today but I thought you might like some of the views that I did get...

Here are a few at the top...San Luis Obispo is off to the right and Morro Bay is to the left.

Re: Prefumo Canyon Views

I usually ride the R1100S which is more my size but I have to say that little 650 is so much fun! Because of it's low center of gravity it can be seriously pushed through tight turns...so much so that I was sanding off the soles of my boots. There were a couple of motards out today as well tearing it up...and I also caught a buzzard that had been feasting on the remains of a fawn that had the misfortune to get hit...

Why thank you Jim. Its kind of interesting...when I first started posting on Pashnit a photostory would elicit all kinds of questions and commentary...now a year and a half later only one response??? I'm thinking that perhaps things have gotten too big? It sort of dampens the enthusiasm to contribute when only one fellow rider takes the time to pat you on the back. I'm not lacking in esteem mind you (probably never crossed anyone's mind that knows me ), its just that the spirit seems distracted here? Too many posts about bad etiquete and rage or bragging about speed...I don't know, maybe its time to just ride and leave this place alone.

Re: Prefumo Canyon Views

Wow! Alan, what awesome pics! I can only imagine what the scene looks like in early spring when all that grass is brilliant green! Now don't hate me because I'm beautiful, but where exactly is Perfumo Canyon? I think I recognize that mountain top.

The bike is quite the looker, ain't she?

Enjoyed the photos. Your wife's bike is nice. Noticed it was a belt drive. My GS was chain.

Depends on who is riding...amazing what happens when you rattle a bagg of rocks and tell everyone its a thermonuclear device
