Recent ride to Montana
I just returned from a week and a half ride to Monatana with some friends. The trip included Yellowstone, Cody and Glacier Park. We based camped at a friends home just north of the Yellowstone north entrance on Hwy 89. He has a large teepee on his property and it became our hotel. I have created a photo album on my smugmug site and you are welcome to have a look.
http://fast87.smugmug.com/gallery/1628485 The photos start on the Columbia River in Oregon, then a few on Hwy 12 going through the Lolo Pass in Idaho, then Yellowstone, and then Glacier.

 great pics - looks like a great ride! wife will love the Idaho pics (never guess where she's from ) water falls were great... not sure i like the looks of the water pouring onto the road tho...  still beautiful!

The waterfalls look like they are pouring onto the road, but actually they are contained in the roadside drainage and the roads were mostly dry. There were only a few wet spots and a little bit of sand and gravel, mostly dry and well kept.

Mike,
Thanks for the tour (great photos), so how bad did the wind affect you in the gorge? I plan on taking 84 to Idaho later this year, and I know the wind over by Pendleton can give you a run for your money. |
