The Cooper Run photo's
The Jim Cooper run.
Because of my recent loss I took a “test ride” the day before this event to be sure I could focus on riding. I found I was not only focused but it was good to help clear my mind. The Jim Cooper Run was on! I left home Saturday about 6:45 am. Not wanting to slab it “all the way” I rode from South Bay (San Jose area) on 680N to 580E to Vasco Rd thru Brentwood and Oakley onto Hwy 160N to Hwy12W thru Rio Vista to Hwy 113 N which took me right into Dixon. I arrived a little late (8:45a) at the Chevron station to find a nice sized group milling around and chatting. Martie was busy checking off the arrivals on the signup sheet and distributing T-shirts. Here’s a few of the pic’s I took… Bill (Sklywag) giving the pre-ride briefing.

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
Then it was time to line up into the three groups… Quicker, Medium and Slow-n-easy paces.
Bill (Sklywag) lead all three groups out for the first 20 miles or so, until we got to Esparto on Hwy 16, where the groups broke into their individual paces. It’s always pretty cool to see a large group of bikes cruising together. (this is on Pedrick/County Rd 98 just North of Dixon)

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
Hwy 16 was a nice twisty treat that eventually T’s into Hwy 20, where we turned left towards Clear Lake.
This was seen on the lake as we cruised thru many small towns scattered along the North Shoreline of Clear Lake. We circled around the West End of the Lake and headed back east on Hwy 29 with a lunch stop at Lakeport on the Todd Rd exit of Hwy 29. The locals call this Hamburger Hill as there are a variety of burger joints located here. I didn’t get any photo’s here as I sidetracked to meet my wife and a couple of her girlfriends, who were in towm (Lakeport) for a concert at Konocti Harbor.

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
I returned just in time to see the last group hitting Hwy 29 E.
Sorry about the image quality (some blurriness) of the following “moving” pictures.

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
There were even a couple of “Old Farts” seen enjoying themselves on the ride.

Pope’s Valley Post office and General Store.
Also a nice place for a regroup, a bag of ice to refill water bladders, a cool drink or an ice cream bar. (scroll--->)

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
Here’s the “Post Office” side of the place.
One of the old local’s was eyeing the exotic newer machinery on the scene.

Re: The Cooper Run photo's
I didn’t get any further photo’s until back at The Coopers for the wonderful Food as well as a much appreciated dip in the pool.
Only got a couple of photo’s here… After awhile of eating and chatting it was time to hit the road for home just as the sun was setting. I got this photo of the near full moon and a shadow rider pacing me down Hwy 113. Closing note… On my way home I did receive a “Performance Award” heading East on Hwy 12 just West of Rio Vista. Moto CHP radared me at 77mph. Cited me for 65. I think it was a 50 zone. Ah well… I haven’t got to enjoy heckling the instructor at traffic school in quite awhile. OK folks… I know there were others along who took photo’s. Please post them up here… or start your own photo thread. Feel free to add all the commentary you feel like. John
