I love Motorcycles, show me photos of your motorcycle. Add any infomation you care to include, such as..... location of photos date of photos description of bike Rate your motorcycle............on a scale of 1-10 how do you rate your bike? Advanced: review your motorcycle, include specifications, and rating. I'm wondering if there is an aspiring moto-journalist who will emerge and post a motorcycle review?

Re: Show Me your motorcycle photos...
This is my 81 Silverwing, hooked up to my cargo trailer which I have dubbed "the Chuckwagon". I stopped for gas and smokes before my recent trip to the rockies and had the owner of the cafe and gas bar, Salem pose for this picture.
I bought the bike two and a half years ago at the Honda dealership in Camrose Alberta, paid $1,500, had to put on two new tires, fabricated some floorboard mounts, a hitch to pull the "chuckwagon", fabricated the trailer and dubbed it the "chuckwagon", had the seat re-covered, scoured swap meets for some misc. parts like original mirrors, grill inserts, patched the mufflers and I was good to go. When I bought the bike it had 60,000 km and currently it has 72,000 km and still running strong. It pulls the "chuckwagon" quite nicely, although on some grades I have to downshift and braking distance has increased some. This Silverwing model was made only in 81 and 82, with the 83 model upgraded to a 650cc. It may be one of the most versatile mid range bikes made in this era as it is light and nimble enough for around town, yet makes for a great touring bike [OMG, I sound like a commercial] I would rate it an 8 out of ten, the saddle could be bigger for us full figured guys, It is a high revving [but bullet proof engine] machine, 5,500 rpm@ 60 mph. |

Re: Show Me your motorcycle photos...
This my ZRX taken by a fellow rider's passenger on a group ride I was leading. Basically bone stock with the exception of a Corbin G/L seat. 33K on the odometer. Barry, I have always loved the Silverwing and wish they made them a few more years. It was an all inclusive, light weight tourer.

Re: Show Me your motorcycle photos...
It's a 2001 that I have thoroughly enjoyed. For street use I give it a 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Points off for maintenance, valve adjustment intervals are 7,000 miles (too short) and they routed the exhaust pipe in a way that makes getting the oil filter out a hassle. I will say this, the valve adjustment is about the easiest of any bike I have owned other than the screw and locknut type. The motor has all the grunt down low you could ask for, enough to make V-twin owners envious. Its comfortable for all day rides but after about 400 miles I do wish for a little more legroom.
This is a Killboy shot of me a couple of years ago at Deals Gap. |

Re: Show Me your motorcycle photos...
82 SilverWing (title says 82, VIN crosschecks to 81)
I really don't have anything to compare it to as it is the first motorcycle I've ever owned. Handles nicely, bought it 16 months ago, mainly use it to commute to and from work. I've put 8K on it so far (total mileage on the bike is 23K. The only thing different from the pictures is that I have the saddlebags mounted now and the mirrors were changed (for reasons I care not to mention).

Re: Show Me your motorcycle photos...
This is my V-Strom, 2005 DL1000. Great canyon carver, can do it in the dirt (a little bit), and is as comfortable as any bike I've ridden in years. Has been a great allrounder:
![]() However, I have recently sold this great, allrounder, and purchased this: 2006, Honda ST13000/A (ABS). Smooth, fast, and rides like it weighs 100lbs less. A month old and less than 2k on it with nary a hiccup. Just about perfect. One mod that won't wait is a ride-in to Rocky Meyer's for a new saddle. This stock saddle I just cannot get used to. Other than that, almost a perfect, for me, motorcycle. Black, of course, is the fastest color. |
