Re: Motorcycle cuts deer in half!!
Holy cow! Just glad to see the rider was still up and intact! How many times you read where the dear takes the rider out. I wonder what kind of damage to the bike?

Perhaps an after market slicer added to the front? He went through that deer like a hot knife through butter.

Re: Motorcycle cuts deer in half!!
wow...the rider didn't skip a beat. It looked like hitting the dear had absolutely no effect on the bike continuing down the road.

Re: Motorcycle cuts deer in half!!
That's amazing. I have seen several videos of bikes hitting animals and it seems to me that the ones who go down are the ones who had time to hit the brakes. Almost everyone who didn't have time to brake, all stayed up and were able to keep control. Makes me think if anything like that runs in front of you, your better off to just try to ride through it......Anyone,Anyone!

Re: Motorcycle cuts deer in half!!
That theory kind of makes since. If you brake very hard you have one tire that will slide, namely the front, cause you squeezed the life out of the brake lever. Makes since to just keep going, traction on both tires.

I've heard a similar theory applied to trains. If an engineer finds himself about to hit a car or other object on a crossing and impact is unavoidable, I've heard that they are trained to accelerate, not brake. This is supposed to put tension on the couplings and reduce the likelihood of derailment. Looks like it worked for the rider in that video!!

Motorydr said he was doing about 55mph when he hit a deer. He describes colliding with the neck/head area of the deer. He looked into his mirrors and saw the carcass spinning. John thinks if he had hit the center mass of the deer, he would not have been so lucky. |
