VStrom / Bumble Bee AZ

As similar to the past weekends since picking up the VStrom, I headed north. This time I was headed to the ol' ghost towns of Bumble Bee/Crown King AZ. Have never been there but heard that they were pretty neat to check out with a lot of history to go with it. Managed to snap one shot which was where I stopped to munch on some food and have a drink. It was in the triple digits even up in the mountains. D'oh!

Cheers!

That's a lot of info on one sign, but it looks promising!

Re: VStrom / Bumble Bee AZ

Unfortunately the road turns to a dirt road that is complete washboard. Not pleasant for all those miles up the hill in/on any vehicle. The 'town' of Crown King as small as it is, does have a restaurant and a few residents. And of course a post office. Which was on the national news a few years when some nutbar strapped a bunch of explosives to himself and threatened to blow it up. I can't remember what happened but nothing got blown up. Crown King was also in magazines for I can't remember which brand of quad because it has more quads registered than cars. Made for kind of a funny ad. The road out the back way is dirt as well and is a little smoother but not by much. It's known as the Senator Hwy and will take you into Prescott (and Dale wouldn't have to worry about the DPS...). It has some very beautiful views of the Bradshaw Mtns.

Ok Chris, now let's see some photos from all the way up and out Senator!

I didn't think the road was too bad. A little bumpy but a challenge none the less. I have to get in the habit of stopping and taking more pictures. Senator Hwy was a hoot though, Renee. You need to email me a list of 'cool' az roads. MS S&T only has so much to offer!!

Cheers!

Now that sound like my kind of road. Perfect for the DR-Z fun.
