Bama Countryside - Motorcycle Riding Alabama

Here's a few shots I took over the weekend in northern Alabama on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I got in the mood to play around with the camera a little. OK, not too many mountains out here, but if you look around there is still a lot of good material. These were taken in Limestone, Lawrence, Winston, and Morgan counties.

Way Down South in the Land of ....

Swan Creek, Limestone County

Harleys outside the Hard Dock Cafe - Decatur, AL

Bridge over the Tennessee River - Decatur, AL

Old Barn on Highway 278 - Winston County

Another view along Highway 278 - Winston County

Another old barn - Winston County

Re: Bama Countryside

That's what I like about this website...I get to see parts of the country that otherwise I probably wouldn't. Being from Missouri, I always like the pics of derelict barns, buildings, trucks, etc. I was in Santa Fe recently and went to this gallery that specialized in pics of abandoned trucks in the desert. The patinas were incredible. I can't think of the website, but sure was an interesting subject. I wonder if that ol' Chevy is still hauling those big hay bales?

Most excellent photos Mark. Right up there with the host of them from your trip. You are really becoming quite the photo-journalist. I too love the old barns. Something special about them. Thanks for taking time out to have some fun and share with us. We're quite the fortunate bunch!

Re: Bama Countryside

Thanks folks. I've been so busy exploring the roads in eastern TN, NC, and GA, that I haven't taken any time to hang around here on the weekends and explore the surrounding counties. This is the first time I've seen any of these places except for the Decatur shots. The old truck and barn shots were taken early on a Sunday morning, a very nice time to be out there, it's quiet and there is very little traffic
