Re: Old School Photos
Is this old enough for ya? Its the first bike I ever rode and my Dad still has it!
1972 Honda Trail CT70 This isn't the actual bike, but its identical to it, even down to that sickly yellow color. ![]() Ray

Re: Old School Photos
Went to the Show 'n Shine in Tangent...bike-wise, there wasn't much while I was there.
Just a fairly clean chopper and this nice Triumph (Thunderbird?). |

Re: Old School Photos
However, I spotted this big piece of Old-School being prepped for the show at the nearby Tangent Fire Station...
It's a 1943 American La France Fire Engine, one of three that were built before the auto industry shifted gears to making military transportation. One of the original three is gone, and Jay Leno has the other. 12 cylinder flattie, two updraft carbs, two separate 6-cylinder ignition systems. Stock except for some large glass-packs on the exhaust system. It looks an awful lot like a deuce-and-a-half in the first pic. |

Re: Old School Photos
Hows this for old school, not exactly biking but old none the less. They were having a threshing demonstration at the Reynolds Museum the day I went to check out their bike display.

Re: Old School Photos
Warning: taking a cue from the photos of old cars above, I took the liberty of hijacking this thread to post multiple pics of old cars...
The girls and I attended the Durham Harvest Festival today. (Hubby had to work )Having to wait for kiddos to finish naps before heading out we didn't arrive until 1400 hrs. To my dismay, many of the old cars were already leaving. (When they said it was over at 1600, they meant everything would be GONE by then!!!)I shot as many photos as I could, with one kid strapped to my chest and two others whining about stopping every few seconds and wanting to ride the ponies instead of look at cars, not to mention groups of cars leaving every few minutes... So here the better of the photos I got...Sure wish I had gotten there sooner!
