Fast Bikes @ Bonneville Speed Week

For the fourth year, I rode to Bonneville in August for Speed Week. I photo'ed as many bikes as possible.

A neighbor of mine was there racing his stock ZX-14. He ran 182.

I was at Bonneville with my brother, and his friend who runs a Model A that holds two records with different engines, 190 and 206 mph.

Wow! Nice!

Some serious good stuff there. I would love to see Speed Week at Bonnie some time. And after watching the World's Fastest Indian, it has really got my interest up. It just amazes me.

Those bikes are just great. And to be running on the salt flats. Wow...

Thanks for sharing the photos and of your trip over and back. Some pretty sweet shots there too.

Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. I am partial to Triumphs and like the pic of that 1st pic of the Triumph, and the Rocket III. When I can, I am getting a Rocket III next for a cruiser. But still keeping my Daytona 955i.

I would liek to goto the salt flats sometime to see the top speed of my Daytona, so it is in a safe environment.

Great photos!! I guess the salt beds are hard like asphalt? I would think it would be kinda soft and hard to ride on!!

As for my favorite nature/road photo, this is it!! I love how the sun shines through the clouds!!!

I saw recently a post on a southern California sportbike website about a bikes-only weekend that occurred 2 or 3 weeks ago. I will try to find it.

Thanks for a great trip report, Eric! Loved all the pix, from the event and the ride. It looks like a number of bike records were set in new categories: http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/S...ords_Bikes.htm. I was a bit confused by the results, but realized these are reports of only broken records. So I guess none of the super-duper fast records were broken this year. What a fascinating mix of bikes, though!
