A different view of Mosquito Ridge Rd

Subframe's bent on my fizzer so no riding for a little bit. Instead some friends and I went backpacking on the Western States trail this weekend. Part of the trail was across the canyon from the road so I snapped a few pics.

Also, the WS trail goes thru trail 6 of Foresthill OHV area so I took a pic of that, too. I miss my old KLR .

Great pics Brandon - plenty of hiking trails in that region to explore ! Used to go hiking along the Rubicon River up to Hell Hole Reservoir years ago. Could walk all afternoon and not see a single other person.

2,407

At 2,407 feet above sea level, Cheaha Mountain is the highest point in Alabama.

Have I said I miss California, lately? Great pictures, Brandon.

You sound like me! I miss it too and I'm only a state away!

Nice photos. Looks like a great place to hike. Maybe someday...

It's supposed to happen for us in June, but the company is dragging its heels and now I'm not even 100% sure it will happen then, if at all.

Also, I forgot to mention that Cheaha Mountain is 120 miles away from here. We do, however, have Chapman Mountain which looks like it’s up around 750 feet or so. Real nose bleed heights, to be sure. Every time I go across it on HWY 72 I think I need a carb adjustment. Thankfully it's only two or three miles across at that altitude.

The really cool thing about the Western States Trail...they race horses on it...from Meeks Bay to Foresthill.

Dual Sport that!!!

Re: A different view of Mosquito Ridge Rd

Yea, we saw the sign for all the check points. They race horses and runners on it. Coming back on the trail there were dirtbike tracks from devil's thumb all the way into Michigan Bluff.

Joe, we were in the canyon then but too hungry and exhausted to care about anything. Besides the canyon is so big you can barely see cars on MRR.
