The summer I missed - Alaska
This story is more about what I missed while being on vacation then what I saw on my trip. The house sitter we had, (a friend of the family), also worked on one of the local sightseeing cruise boats based here in Valdez. One of the things he left us with besides a clean house, a freshly mowed lawn and a healthy parrot, was a group of photos of his experiences out on the Prince William Sound this summer. I thought I might post a few of them here and share with you all what I missed, besides rain and the fishing season.
I know there are no photos of bikes but maybe it will inspire some to ride up here to Alaska next summer. Hope you enjoy. |

Fantastic Jeff. I think I will come up to get that crude oil instead of waiting for delivery. Really nice pictures.....Ken

Re: The summer I missed
Sure are lots of critters around. Was just up in Puget Sound, but didn't see any whales. Did see some of the small dolphins, but just for a second or two because they're very shy.

Re: The summer I missed
Great pics I loved the eagle one as well. Being from the east I imagined the eagle only as a soaring giant, until I visited the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines. It's one powerful killing hunter with those talons and beak!
