Welcome Edgar

The Burgman 125 is a nice starter bike - good choice.

You'll love the Burgman 400 even more.

Enjoy your riding and stay safe.

Just south of San Francisco on Hwy. 1(at Half Moon Bay) you'll want to take Hwy. 92 East (at the top and turn right onto) Skyline (Hwy. 35 South).

Shortly after you turn onto Skyline there's a short period of time where you can look to the left and see the bay and look to the right and see the Pacific ocean at the same time.

At the crossroads of Skyline and La Honda Rd. you'll find the world famous Alice's Restaurant.

Keep going south on Skyline (Hwy. 35) to Hwy. 9 West. You'll ride an incredable motorcycle road and ride through Boulder Creek and on into Santa Cruz where you'll hook back up on Hwy. 1.

Further south you might want to swing off the Hwy. into Monterey and visit Cannery Row (made famous in Grapes of Wrath). Continuing south, Big Sur is an incredably beautiful area then Hwy. 1 comes out on the rugged California coast litterally hugging the cliffs.

Further south in San Simeon, it you look up on top of the mountains you'll get a few glimpse of Hearst Castle.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Greetings from the frozen North. It's March 9th and the temperature in Beaumont, Alberta (near Edmonton) is minus 25C, or minus 10 (or so) F.

I'm posting here after lurking a couple of years ago prior to my first Cali bike tour. We spend 4 days experiencing some amazing roads in the South part of the state.

This year we're planning a Northern route out of San Francisco and leaning heavily on Pashnit's membership and subscription service to help us get the most out of our 4 riding days.

Seems like a great community here! Internet forums are rarely as well focussed and free from detritus!

Cheers to all of you!

Hi Folks!

I am nursiegrl, I live in so cal and love love love the Cali roads.
Can't beat them anywhere (in my humble opinion!). I am a nurse and currently have 3 bikes in my line up (with 5 more that I NEED now!). I have a YZF 250, a dual sport DRZE 400, and a Y2K VFR800 with 85K miles on it. I am always looking for fun riding partners, and although new to the forum, I am guilty of lurking for years! Hit me up for riding day rides or multi day rides in the so cal areas.

Welcome Tracy

If you've lurked for years then you'll have seen posts from Kris (Viffergyrl) who lives around your area somewhere. She is an exceptional rider and a fun person.

Looking at your list of bikes I'm guessing you do the occasional track day?

Looking forward to seeing some ride reports.
