Almost prurient interest

Hi folks, I go by the name Beaks a handle I picked up from the crowd I started riding bikes with back in 1970.. yeah I'm old.
Lots of dirt bikes, then few years ago bought a Bandit 1200S.
I live north of Toronto, Ontario Canada and riding around here is boring as poo but the bike makes up for it.
I am headed to San Fran in May to stroke one thing off my bucket list, ride the coast and then inland as far and as much as I can in 4 days. Renting a bike when I get to SF.
Any info on accom up the coast and at Red Bluff/Redding appreciated.
I'm solo, if I join up thats fine, if not, thats cool too I am there for the road, the curves, the ocean and the elevations. This site is like water to a dehydrated man...
Talk soon.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hello riders! 58 yrs old, I've been a dual sport rider, mostly off road, all my life. Finally got a good road machine, my wife just got a Can Am Spyder and we're ready to start riding the back roads.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

G'day All,

Peter here, from Tasmania... that's the island state to the south of Australia. I've recently purchased a 2004 Triumph Sprint ST... and love it. So does my partner and we plan to get out and explore this great country of ours on two wheels after having already travelled thousands of kilometers in 4WDs.

I stumbled across this site a while back and was immediately impressed by the quality of Tim's work, the maginficent photography and inspirational rides. Guess I'll be lurking and reading initially, but will hopefully have something to contribute as I get out and about on the bike.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Peter. I hope to see your neck of the planet someday.

One of my favorite actors is from Tasmania, he worked for Looney Toons for many years. Have you ever met him?

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Scott from Santa Barbara. I ride a Yamaha FJR. Had it for a couple of years and the ride is nice. I am looking for some trips in the California Sierra Mountains. I was looking at some of the roads that cross the Sierras just south of Lake Tahoe (to criss-cross the Sierras off of 395 and back again). As well, how about the rides north of Lake Tahoe and across the Sierras to Lassen National Park, etc.). How are the roads and the views?
