I am John. I ride a Harley Road King which I have had since 2006. My friends and I usually take an annual bike trip that has included CA, Nev, Utah and Az. Always looking for the next route. Been riding since I was a teenager and never lost the desire. Can't find a better state to ride in than CA. Looking forward to many hours on this website. Good riding.

Accidentally stumbled on this site looking for information regarding the installing a rear tire on a HD Road Glide. Didn't know if I could do it--sometimes have to have those "special" HD tools that are costly and ones that you may only use a few times in your lifetime!

Anyway, did see an excellent "how to" post and decided to register for this website.

I'm recently retired, around 65 years old, have been riding mid-size bikes since I was 16, but things changed in 2004. Found a sweet deal on a 2004 HD 1200 custom and found much of my leisure time on two wheels. Something that I had done too much the past several years. Started doing some "local" long distance stuff in CA, NV, AZ and was hooked. But, damn, needed a bigger bike! Out checking things at a local dealer and in 2007 got a fantastic deal on a '07 Road Glide. That's ride now and I'm hoping to spend more time on the road than wiping the machine down in the garage.

Making my first trip to Sturgis this year. Should be a real treat. Hooked up on the net with a fellow from Oxnard who was also looking for someone to ride with. We plan on being on the road 2.5 days to accomplish our trip. It will be interesting because he is riding a 1950 restored panhead with a small gas tank. So looks like we will be gassing about every 125 miles. It will be a real test for him--solo bicycle style seat, no windshield, etc.

That's enough about me. Hope to learn a lot on this board and maybe meet a few people along the way.

Harleyguy, sounds like you are up for a great road trip. Your buddy has some challenges but they are not impossible. Just be sure you guys hydrate on the run.... And take pics.

I currently live in Hawaii, but may soon be relocating to Socal. I just thought I'd take a friends advice and log on to this site so that if I do move to California, I will have people to meet up with, build friendships with and most of all ride with.

I ride an 09 HD Ultra Classic, but someday would like to get my hands on a Victory Vision. All for now. Ride safe everyone!!
