Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi, my name is Ralph and I live in Orange County, CA. I've been riding since 1969. My latest ride is an '04 BMW R1150RA on which I've lowered the pegs and raised the bars for comfort to these old bones. My last ride was my late, great 80 Yamaha XS1100G. I had that bike for 26 years and hated to turn it loose. My wife has recently come back to riding after a child-raising hiatus. She rides a Suzuki Boulevard M50. A couple of weeks ago we rode up to the central coast to meet up with a bunch of XS1100 riders. Rode some wonderful roads that seem to abound in that neck of the woods. Tested and enjoyed our newly purchased Chatterboxes for bike to bike communication. Won't leave home without them again. They're great. Jobs and commitments are a great intruder into our riding time, but we get out and about when we can.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi Marina, More info please... Are you and your girlfriend starting from SF? IF so there are many MANY great roads. I live in Bakersfield which is really an armpit of a place, but is nicely located with great roads spreading out in all directions. So if you get down my way look me up of contact me and I'll send you the skibby.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
OK, I keep getting prompted, so here's the introduction. As a 55-year-old California native, I have been involved in the recreational burning of gasoline in 6 different decades. I have gone from looking out the side windows of a variety of Chevrolets in the fifties, to steaming up those same windows in the 60's and 70's. In 1966, I rode a motorcycle for the first time. It was a red and white Honda 50 and it was in a sand wash in 29 Palms. I owned my first bike in 1972 and have been the registered owner of at least one motorcycle ever since. I have ridden professionally since 1985 in one capacity or another. I am an MSF/Rider's Edge instructor and have taught in California and Wisconsin. I have hit a deer. I have owned every major brand of motorcycle and a lot of not so major ones. If it wasn't for motorcycling, I probably would have gone nuts (or more nuts) a long time ago. So, now that I have posted my first post, let's all get back to enjoying what we do best. Let's ride.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi:
I'm Walt, and I hail from the Vancouver area in B.C. Been a member for some time, but never posted. I re-entered riding after a 24 year hiatus in 2007. Used to ride Triumphs ('71 Trophy 500, 72 Bonneville 650), but now have an '05 Suzuki Boulevard C50. Figured it was big enough after so many years of not riding....but occasionally dream of upsizing to a C90 or Kawasaki Nomad or??? Work in schools, so am (supposed to be) off for the summer. Put on 1500 km last weekend...and am planning a variety of weekend jaunts this summer. Would love to ride down to CA...and take Hwy 36 over to the coast. I periodically ride with two local clubs...the Langley RoadRiders and the Pacific Coast Cruisers Motorcycle Club. Great people, and a lot of fun compared to riding solo. Walt (pilgrim) |

Hi folks,
Wish to greet everyone here. What I see is a tremendous job some members do. As far as I can see most people have the same values as myself. I was deeply impressed by the photograhs I saw. I hope to post some myself later. My first ride is a 2004 Yamaha FJR1300 I bought 6 weeks ago with 12000mls on the clock. Beside I have my (t)rusty Honda Silver Wing GL650 of 1982 vintage. Own it since 1983 and did 90000kms. Beside my wife and I own a couple of Arctic Cat quads (650H2 4x4 and 300 4x4). Since our twins appeared last August we have not much opportunity to ride together so it's up to me do walk the bikes. |
