Hello All,

Tried this yesterday in the introduction section after registering. Then it said I wasn't signed in so was not allowed to use it. So what's up with that?
Anyway I'm Hector and am older than many but not as old as many others I'm sure. Have been riding & working bikes since I was ten. Came board on try to help out an older customer of mine to find a good used sidecar for an "81 Honda GL500 Silver Wing he wants to buy. Have been working in dealerships off and on in Texas('73)Norton, Tryumph, Moto Morini, Ducati, Benelli, Laverda,& Moto Bicane )and California since "88. Am factory trained on Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Polaris, Bombardier, Sea Doo, Jet Ski, Wave Runner, motorcycles, water craft, & power equipment. And believe it or not, looking for work. Working for myself with what ever I can find so far. Also buy and sell mortgage/ trust deed notes (cash flows) when someone wants or needs money for their note. But things have been really slow lately. So there's my intro story if anyone cares.
Happy riding to all!!!:

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

My first motorcycle was a 1947 Harley 125cc Hummer 2 stroke. I bought it when I was 13 years old (1958) for $75.00 with a stripped spark plug hole.

My uncle, Dick Anderson, was a Harley mechanic in Sacramento who worked for Armando Magri. He took the entire motor and completely rebuilt it.

I use to drive it on the levee of the Sacramento River down south to Snodgrass Slough where I fished and shot up the place with my 22 rifle.

I have had about a dozen motorcycles that I really enjoyed and am going to get back into it after I retire, hopefully very shortly.

I use to work after school at the BF Goodrich tire store at 16th & W Street and across the street was the Motorcycle Sports Center owned by Harold Ball and Elmer Graves. I am related to Harold. It was BSA and Yamaha so I am kind of partial to Yamahas.

Bought an 'almost new' Yamaha YDS2 250cc twin 2 stroke that was a pretty fast street bike in it's day. We would beat some British bikes if they were not in good shape and fully tuned.

We witnessed the arrival of the Japanese motorcycles in the 1960s.

My south Sacramento friends and I rode our bikes to every kind of race we could find.

We use to go to the Sacramento Mile (dirt) at the old California Fair Grounds on Stockton Blvd in Sacramento (early 1960s) with our service truck from the tire shop. I was fun packing the track with the old flat track motorcycles.

In those days it was Harley 750 flathead K models, Triumph 500cc twins and BSA 500cc singles. You could tell what was qualifying by the special sound they each made.

I could go on forever because it was such a great time in my life.

Hello

Hi. I'm Stefani from Sunnyvale, CA. I started riding about 2 1/2 years ago, shortly after turning 51. I had never thought in wildest dreams that I would ever be riding a motorcycle before then. I blame it on my coworkers that were coming to work every day on their bikes with big smiles on their faces. It was all over when I got around to asking myself "why can't I?"... I signed up for the MSF class to see if riding was really for me and the rest is history (mine anyway). My current bike is an '07 CBR1000RR. My next bike I think will be an ST because I want to seriously travel. I found about about your forum from the st-owners forum admin so here I am. Hopefully, you can help me on my journey to become a better rider
