Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hello Pashnit! I have been riding since I was 16, growing up in SF. Only in the last couple of years have I ridden for pleasure versus function (traffic, time, freedom). I am not a member of any groups that ride and my buddies with bikes live hundreds of miles from me. I Googled for runs and saw the Highway 36 story and that got me to the Pashnit site. So, I am hoping to find some folks to get out and roll around with. The pictures on the sites are great and I like the mixed "fleet" appeal of the group. So I am checking it out. I look forward to seeing what comes of this.
Take it easy. |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi everyone!
This is Michael from southern Oklahoma and I'm new to Pushinit but not to touring. I started street riding in '74 with a Kawasaki triple and have only been without a bike one year since. I lost my best friend to a drunk driver 3 years ago and very nearly gave up riding. He and I rode together for 25 years and he kept me in the sport for years as our families grew up together. I am now on a nicely prepped BMW K1200S and found this Pushinit while planning my third trip to Canada this summer. The plan is to mostly retrace a trip I took a few years go and ride to California, follow coastal highway into BC then do my best to include as much of the Rockies and Tetons on the way back home. I plan to be on the road for 30 days pushing it for some of the days to let me take time to soak in the wonders I'll be going through. Thanks to all of you that share your tours, I'll be looking forward to getting ideas where to look out for and enjoy. |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
I have been a Pashnit follower and subscriber for a while. I am into my 45th year or riding, and I can say that my '01 BMW R1150 GS is a lot nicer ride than the '64 Honda Dream I started on.
I lived in Michigan for quite a while, and although it has some very nice roads, it's hard to fit them all in to the 12 days of nice weather that Michiganders are blessed with a year. California rocks. On average, I ride (somewhere) five days a week. I never go more than 50 miles from home withoutchecking Pashnit for a road. I also have an '03 plated XR650R desert racer that will probably go on the block soon. |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi everyone,
I've joined here for a couple of reasons. Franke and Helmuthead. I was introduced to here from the GL1800riders forum and saw Franke's incredible pics from this summers trips and later lurking and finding helmuthead's 2005tour of the western US. Franke convinced me I need a DSLR and HH has given me many ideas for my own western trip in Sept. I'll be firming up my camera selection and my western trip plans in the next few months and know this sight will be a wonderful source for advise and ideas. Thanks for being here, Richard |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
I've been riding motorcycles for over 20 years. Riding Harleys since I moved to the Bay Area in 1987. On number 4 and it's a 1997 Electra Glide Classic.
Actually, I signed onto Pashnit a few years ago while living in San Diego. We are back in the Bay Area now. I really enjoy this web site and had forgotten all about it until this evening when I saw the link on another web site. Keep up the good work. |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi,
Ive been riding bikes for 25 years now and Ive been all over Europe,a little of Malaysia and Thailand.Ive found this great site as Im coming over to ride from San Francisco to LA or Vegas, not sure which yet as I still havn`t sorted my ride out yet!!! I may drop the bike off in Long Beach unless I can find a hirer who is prepared to pick the bike up from Vegas. I could do with some advice as to which hire company to use though. Cheers Peter |
