Hello All,
Gin and I are the founders of the Women's Motorcyclist Foundation. About 35-40% of our ride participants are guys who support the women riders in their lives or are advocates of women riders and the focus of our ride events. We wed charitable riding events with adventures and rider training. It's a total win/win. This past summer, we partnered with Progressive Insurance and MotoQuestTours.com (aka Alaska Rider) to host a two week dual sport ride to help eradicate breast cancer. You can check out this ride at www.womensmotorcyclistfoundation.org We both enjoy road and dual sport touring along with track days designed to improve our riding skills. We've been lucky enough to ride in all 49 North American States by motorcycle and most of the Canadian Provinces. There's still a whole lot of world out there to enjoy and we expect future adventures and events we host will take us to some of these far flung places. Maybe some of you folks will join us. Here's to meeting some of you along the roads less traveled via whatever two or three wheeled conveyance you enjoy. Gin and Sue |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
I am in the process of restoring a 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale XVZ 1200DL. Bought it when it was in pieces for $200 and 6 months later I had a fully dressed touring bike. Not bad for $200. Have over 125,000 miles and still running strong. Just got back from a 600+ mile trip and she ran perfectly.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Hi all. My name is Darren and I hail from Newport News, VA. I'm an active duty Soldier with just about 25 years riding split between here and CA.
Currently (and up and until I fall out of love with her) I am riding an '08 Concours 14 that I bought new and have since put 21k on (with a one year break in the middle for a desert tour). Looking forward to all the info that I know I will glean from the posts here. |

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...
Greetings from the Great White North.
My name is Peter Delean. Although I live and ride mostly on the east coast, I now have a motorcycle parked in southern California and can "fly and ride" to what I think is the greatest riding in North America. A few weeks ago, I got to ride through the area south of a line from L.A. to Vegas for four glorious days. I rode through parks like Joshua Tree, Lake Mead Recreation Area, Valley of Fire, Anza-Borrego; towns like Crestline, Idyllwyld, Big Bear Lake, and Julian; roads like the Angeles Crest, CA 243, CA 74, CA 138. It was without a doubt the most entertaining four days of riding I've had in a while. Make that ever. My goal in moving the bike out west was to prolong the riding season and get to know the southwest in more detail. This is where Pashnit comes in. The years of knowledge from people on this Forum and Web site are what I need to tap into. When I visit my time is limited, I need to hit as many great roads as possible as smoothly as possible, after some pre-ride planning. As time permits I will be heading north, along the coast, and to the Sierra passes. There are several parks on my "must see" list as well. I must teach myself to stop and take photos as well. I'm shooting video from my Contour HD helmet cam, but that is different. It's hard for me to stop when I'm enjoying a road. Perhaps the trick is to ride it several times, and stop after I've been over it in both directions. I suspect I know a few riders on this list (long distance riders?). I look forward to meeting many more over the course of my visits to SoCal, and on this Forum. Peter Delean North Bay, ON |

I am new to Pashnit. I used to ride a Valkyrie Interstate until it met an untimely end on Hwy 36 about 45 miles east of Fortuna on the 20/10 curve. Totaled the ride and fractured a right wrist and left ankle. Absolutely great assistance by the CHP and Fortuna Fire Dept, and Clydes Towing in Fortuna.
I am healing well and will be back riding soon. Now own an 05 BMW K1200 LT. I will be back to Hwy 36 and others in your great state. I am retired. Former forester, Naval Flight Officer, Lawyer, Judge, Deputy Sheriff, and Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Officer. Life has been great and now I just ride in the good weather and ski when it is cold and snowing. Married to the same lovely lass for 49+ years. Loving life and retirement. |
