Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Greetings!

Gus here riding a BMW 1200RT after riding a Harley Road King several years as well as a couple of Honda cruisers!

For me, the 12RT opens up many riding adventures that can be handled with aplomb with this one bike - track day, touring, cruising, sport touring + twisty roads and the ability to tackle the worst weather (as long as there is no ice or snow on the road, I will ride).

Glad to find this site! I look forward to the wide variety of information and opinions available in this site!

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hi Ya.
Just signed up on the site, my buddy and I are headed up to the Humboldt area today. Going to bomb up 5 to 36 - you should read about this road if you don't know it, better yet go ride it - then down to Avenue of the Giants and back home to the Bay.

What I ride.
XR650R -
Moto Guzzi V11 Scura - taking this one on the ride today
Harley - Bastartdo Mugroso - bits and pieces of after market stuff with names like S&S

Here are a couple of pics from rides past (hope nobody poo-poo's the dirt photos since I know the site is about road riding)

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hi, my name is Steve, Been riding for about a year and a half. I traded my KLR 650 dual sport 3 months ago for a Yamaha FJR 1300. 90% of my riding is to work and back so the FJR is a lot better suited for road riding, I love this bike!

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hi,

I am Mark. I live in Riverside, CA and I have a 2006 Hayabusa that I bought last May. Before that I had a KZ-650 and a CR-450. When I sold them in the late 90's I figured I was done with motorcycles but I got the bug again and I am happy to be back.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hi everybody! I'm a new-old rider with two bikes...a Kaw KLR650 and a new Buell Ulysses XB12X. I used to ride in the 70's & 80's but traded down to an RV when the kids were born. Now that they're grown we got bit by the bike bug (again). I'm a "novice" rider (or so my Ohio license says) and my wife just got her learner's permit. I'm putting training wheels on the KLR... Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

Hello everyone....or as we say where i'm from, G'day!

I'll be heading over to California in the next few weeks to ride, ride and ride some more.......and this website appears to be the bible on all things California and roads.

Look out for plenty of questions and queries from me in the next few weeks as i continue to plan my little motorcycling adventure on the other side of the world.

Re: Introductions - Introduce yourself here...

This is my first post on this website. Two weeks ago I just sold a '93 ZX 6 because on I 75 the wind was blowing me everywhere. The same day I sold my bike, I purchased a '93 ZX 11D with the money. I have to say here, that my woman made me sell the 6 before I bought the 11. Anyway, I put the 11 in the shop to get two years of sitting rust knocked off. They tell me it will take a month to get it right. So, in the second week of July I'll finally get to ride. I had the first ZX 11 in '89, but totaled it out in '92. I haven't had this kind of power since then and I am chomping at the bit to get on and ride. My new 11 comes with an extended swingarm and all the goodies with a bike built for speed and I can't wait...HA! ANY information pertaining to aftermarket goodies will be appreciated.

Curvy Road Re: Introductions - tire question

Hi All,

My name is Marc and I live in Central Florida. I've been riding for almost 15 years. Just got back from a 2700 mile mosey to Gettysburg, Antietam, Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway and of course....the Tail of the Dragon.

I trashed my tires so I was wondering if anyone had any input to deciding between Coni Road Attacks vs Avon Sorms!!
