There's nothing worse than being cold on a motorcycle. We even have a special term for that, 'motorcycle cold'. The kind of cold that feels as though it permeates right through you. The kind were you get home and have to curl up under a pile of blankets for an hour or two. More miles you accumulate, more one realizes there's no need! You just need some electric gear! An electric vest at least! Plug one of these in, keep that core temperature up, and you'll be able to ride in relative comfort with greater alertness and less fatigue caused by miles of cold weather riding. Pitch it as a safety item when you have to convince your spouse you can't live without one of these. If you don't have an electric vest yet, you might think of your motorcycling experience as "Life before Elecrtrics" and "Life after Electrics".
An electric vest will typically be wired directly into your battery. Vests come with a battery cable, and an on-off switch. Typically, you'd add the cable to the leads on your battery. Then position the plug at the edge of the seat or some inconspicuous place that's easy to reach. Mount the bike, plug in, and ride.
Electric Vests also make great wind-breakers and jacket-liners. They can be an essential part of your under-gear beneath ones normal riding gear. I typically wear mine almost year round under my leather jacket and rarely plug it in unless the temps drop below my own comfort level. Our GB this month is for Gears Electric vests and chaps.  Constructed of 100% polyester, the GEN X-2 HEATED vest is ergonomically designed to fit the body snuggly and gives extra warmth. The outer shell is fire retardant
New snap on electric connection on back of vest for arm chaps connections
Heated Collars, Works best over T-shirt and under a jacket
Comes with all necessary fittings and switch (with an easy to use expandable coiled wire)
This vest works with 12 volts battery and provides 38 watts of heat and draws 3.2 amps of current for size 36 to 52 / 60 watts of heat drawing 5 amps of current for size 54.
Battery cord is 20" long and switch cord without expansion is 30" , easily expands to 45"

| Electrical Requirements:
Check if your motorcycle has adequate charging system to switch ON the GEN X-2 heated apparels and maintain their operation without discharging your battery below a minimum required level. |

For this you will have to check the motorcycle's alternator capacity/output (in watts : Check your vehicle's manual to get the correct wattage) then subtract the current drawn (in watts) of all the vehicle electrical components when switched ON. The balance wattage figure is what you have left to operate our heated apparels and accessories.
Most of today's bikes 400CC and above will have no problem with the charging system of the vehicle if the RIDER and PASSENGER are wearing a complete set of heated garments at the same time. |

EXAMPLE - If a motorcycle has an alternator capacity/output of 550 watts. Total watts consumed by two headlights is 110W, Turn signal 21W, brake light 10W, License plate light 5W. Therefore total consumption equals 146W.
Therefore you will be left with a balance of 404 watts which is more than sufficient to run a full set of heated apparels or any combination or type by either one rider or by two people at the same time.

Plug your leg chap directly to your Gen X–2 Heated Vest or run it alone with our ProTech Controller and battery cord for controlled heat. (Thermostat and battery cord not included)
The leg Chaps work with a 12V battery providing 34Watts of heat and draw 2.8 amps of current.
