Maybe what's special about the Suzuki
Hayabusa is the cult following that it enjoys. It's the owners
that've made this a wildly popular motorcycle. And it's been said
that the Hayabusa is the most-customized sportbike in the two-wheeled
realm. This desire to create motorcycle individually unique has been
fueled by a community hungry for products that stand out. The
Tobin Seat is just that product that has taken the Hayabusa community by
storm. Tobin O'Conner, after making his own seat, became
an unexpected celebrity in the Hayabusa family with his own special
vision of what an aftermarket seat should look like.

Tobin
Seats are merely stock seats that are re-shaped, and then recovered by
Tobin. As you can see, adding things such as the Kanji logo, and
your own personalized name or slogan fits the bill as a made-to-order
aftermarket goody. The Tobin seat gives you the sensation of
sitting "in" the bike, rather than just on it. Designed
from a drag-racing pedigree, the rear tailrest also complements the look
and feel of the seat. Tobin will
need to know your height & weight to construct the seat. The
thickness of the backside of the seat is based on the position of where
you'll be seated while riding.

If the custom seat weren't going far enough, Tobin will also reshape the passenger seat also. Remove the rear hump, and slide on the rear seat. This too comes with a small
matching backrest to give your passenger a sense of space back there, and to provide a slight ledge to lean back against.
As if that we're quite enough, Tobin will also stencil in a large Kanji to the seat to carry on the Hayabusa-theme.
The workmanship is flawless, and the quality superb. If there is one thing you can do that will dramatically change the look and feel of your Hayabusa, a Tobin Seat is it.

Riders Comment on Tobin Seats
|
Those are stock seats
cut down with the foam replaced. The "HUMP" on the seat is the
actual seat height. Actually I was worried about that being I'm 6' tall.
It lowers ya about 2-3 inches at most. For the rider it lowers you into
the spot I think you should be in, in the first place. The passenger can
feel something against their bum/back and lets them relax a little more. I
think she's just not comfy posin' her backside.
I was extremely hesitant about it but now very very glad I did it.

I've
never tried a Corbin but I have spoken with a lot of guys who USED to own
one or have one now and dislike it. I honestly haven't spoken with anyone
in person who had one and liked it.
I know it's hard to understand how a cut seat could be more comfortable
than one with all its padding intact, but my Tobin seat is more
comfortable than the Suzuki gel seat I replaced with it. I think he might
remove all the factory padding and use something else. I asked him about
the padding and he only told me that it wasn't gel. Maybe the secret is in
the seat's shape.
I've used a gel seat
and Tobin's with Tobin's being the hands-down winner. No part of them is
or becomes uncomfortable. I can't comment on my rear Tobin as no one has
ever ridden back there. Likewise, I can only relate several Corbin owners'
comments that the seats are awfully hard.
But a Tobin seat is even more comfortable!
I had my stock seat done by him and have put 3,000 miles on it, including
a couple of one-day round trips between central Virginia and central
Pennsylvania. And they look better to boot. Tobin charges something like
$99 a seat exchange and his turn-around time is quick.
